Aacadia Payments is the culmination of two powerhouses.  With a combined total of over 50 years in the payments and financial services industries, we have come together to form what is now known as Aacadia Payments and set the bar in the credit card processing industry. WHO WE ARE

Riley Bangerter

Chief Executive Officer

Riley Bangerter has been changing the status quo of the financial industry for over 25 years.  After serving a mission in Guatemala, Riley returned to California and jumped right into business.  Diving head first into the insurance and securities industries, Riley built and managed a large nationwide team of agents and oversaw hundreds of millions of dollars of business each year.

Riley formed a partnership and started a mortgage company called WSB Mortgage.  Taking the knowledge gained recruiting insurance and securities reps, Riley built a massive network of loan officers across the country.  Over 2,000 loan officers were sending deals to WSB Mortgage monthly. Relocating to Florida, he built and managed the east coast operations for WSB and subsequently opened offices in 26 states. WSB was largely successful until the crash of 2008. From 2008 to 2011, innovation, dedication, and endless hard workBangerter Finabcial Services fell short of saving the company.

Out of this time, a new company was birthed, Bangerter Financial Services, a namesake together with his father, which grew into a booming financial services company. Still thriving today with his father at the helm, specializing in alternative investments specifically, 1031 Exchanges. 

Meanwhile, Riley and his family relocated to Texas where he branched out into payment processing and took to studying the industry the same as financial services. Aacadia Payments was born in 2020 out of the market climate and pandemic. All of the skills and knowledge gained over the last 2 decades, provided an edge to help business owners pivot, adapt, and grow during a time of uncertainty. 

In 2022, Aacadia proudly partnered with industry powerhouse, Darrell Peppers, naming him Chief Operations Officer.  Together, they are developing processes and technology while changing the way people think about payments. 

Riley lives in Texas on Lake Travis where he enjoys the outdoors riding dirt bikes, wakeboarding and adventuring with his wife and 2 daughters.

Darrell was born a twin and raised in Southwest Washington on a 6-acre Farm along with his brother, Derek.  Darrell has two older brothers that helped teach and guide him throughout his childhood and throughout his life.

Darrell’s vast experience in the payments industry spans sales, operations, regulation, compliance, implementation, risk management and more on both the issuing and acquiring sides.

After receiving his Bachelor’s degree in Biology and Chemistry at Oral Roberts University, Darrell planned to attend medical school and ultimately become  Dr. Peppers. However, he started his credit card processing career answering customer service calls about late fees, interest, chargebacks, and disputes. Then, he went on to work in chargeback & compliance where he developed an expertise in managing disputes and understanding complex rules and regulations.  

Darrell moved to New York City with just a suitcase and a dream.  Faxing resumes to hundreds of potential employers, it was his experience in chargebacks that caught the attention of an owner at an ISO in NYC, on the Acquiring side of Visa/Mastercard.  Diligently, Darrell became a master at the details and developed an expertise that would later support thousands of merchants in establishing accounts and maintaining them with success. Darrell also started installing credit card terminals all over Manhattan, the Bronx and Brooklyn giving him hands-on experience with hardware and technology as well as first hand interaction with merchants. 

As the Director of Operations at a Boutique ISO close to his home on Long Island, he learned to manage risk and effectively price much larger accounts. Darrell then transitioned to a large ISO as the Director of Operations where he grew teams and technology, managed risk, expertly trained customer service, technical support, and risk teams, thereby growing the company from 5 people to over 150 employees.

Darrell left that ISO with one of their three owners, to start a new ISO and worked another four years building operations and teams. A return to the large ISO on Long Island allowed him to support their continued growth.

After 19 years in New York, Darrell moved to Austin, Texas for a position focusing on mid to higher-risk merchant accounts. He successfully grew the company in operations and high-level sales. 

Darrell moved to Dallas in 2021 as Chief Operating Officer for a Low-Risk ISO and jumped back into the low risk world once again. In 2022, he relocated back to Austin to become a partner in Aacadia Payments.  After decades of experience and career success, Darrell is now an owner and able to serve and influence at the highest level.

Darrell and his family moved back to South Austin in 2022, where he loves to jog the trails of LadyBird Lake with his husband Frank and dogs, Bella and Rocco.
